The Benefits of owning a BUILT GREEN® Certified Home:
We are honoured to be recognized as a BUILT GREEN® builder. This prestigious affiliation not only aligns with our commitment to sustainability but also sets us apart in the industry. Through ongoing training in energy-efficient building practices, water-saving techniques, and responsible waste management, we exceed traditional building standards. Our membership in BUILT GREEN® Canada ensures that we adhere to a strict code of ethics and continually push the boundaries to build superior, environmentally friendly homes.
What is BUILT GREEN®?
Built Green Canada is a nationally recognized, non-profit organization committed to fostering the development of eco-friendly homes, including net-zero properties.
The program emphasizes seven crucial aspects of sustainable construction: energy efficiency and building envelope, materials and methods, indoor air quality, ventilation, waste management, water conservation, and general building practices.
Participation in the Built Green program is entirely optional and adopts a comprehensive approach that not only enhances energy efficiency (certified through the EnerGuide rating) but also promotes the use of environmentally sustainable materials (certified under the Built Green label). By aligning with Built Green, we pledge to construct homes that are sustainable, cost-effective, and offer superior performance.
This third-party certification program enables us to verify the environmental performance of our homes. It provides credible assurance of high-quality construction, offering both us, as builders, and you, as buyers, substantial confidence and reassurance.
What is a BUILT GREEN® Home?
A BUILT GREEN® home has been built following sustainable building practices, and then certified by a third-party. Each home must address not only energy efficiency, but go beyond for a holistic approach that includes materials and methods, indoor air quality, ventilation, waste management, water conservation, and business practices.
Before it can be certified, the home’s energy performance and air tightness are tested by an Energy Advisor and rated through the Natural Resources Canada EnerGuide Rating System. Certification through Built Green Canada is a 2-in-1, earning both an EnerGuide label and a BUILT GREEN® label.
By reducing environmental impact, both during the build and in day-to-day operation of the house, a BUILT GREEN® home moves your family towards a healthier, more sustainable life.
